Offline Debt Payoff Planner is an HTML app that opens in the web browser on your computer. Add your debts, compare snowball and avalanche with your own numbers, and see an estimated debt-free date. Your plan lives in a.debtplan file that you choose and keep.

𝗪𝗛𝗬 𝗔 𝗙𝗜𝗟𝗘

• Clearing browser data can erase the browser copy. The real record is a file you keep, and the browser copy is for convenience.
• In Chrome on a computer: use Save to file to choose your plan file (Chrome may ask you to allow the site to save edits). Keep using Save a copy and Backup now as a spare download. Edge may offer the same file picker, but I tested only Chrome and Firefox.
• The top of the page shows when it last saved, for example Saved to My-Debt-Plan.debtplan at 4:12 PM.
• In Firefox, and in any browser without that file picker: use Save a copy and Backup now to download your plan file whenever you like.
• The app shows unsaved changes and a reminder after 25 changes or 7 days without a saved copy. Backup now downloads a dated spare. Open file and Restore check the whole file first. A damaged file, or one made by a newer version of the app, is refused and nothing changes.

𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘

• Dashboard: estimated debt-free month, months and interest compared with paying only the minimums, total owed, paid so far, next target, due dates and balance chart.
• Debts: up to 20 debts, balances, APRs, minimums, due days, notes, progress rings and estimated payoff months. Add, edit, duplicate, archive and delete with undo.
• Payoff Plan: snowball, avalanche, custom order and minimums only side by side, plus a month by month schedule, CSV and print.
• What-If: extra payments, dated one-off payments and an estimated debt-free by month solver. Nothing changes your plan until you press Apply.
• Payments: actual payment records, estimated interest and principal splits, monthly totals, edit, delete with undo and a statement balance adjustment.
• Progress: per-debt rings, milestones, stacked balances and a payoff timeline. Charts include a text table alternative.
• Backup and Settings: Save to file, Open file, Save a copy, Backup now, checked Restore with undo, Light and Dark themes, currency symbol and date format.
• Show sample data: clearly marked made-up entries you can explore. Nothing is saved while it is on. Turn it off to return to your own plan.

𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧

1. Unzip the download first. Do not open the files from inside the ZIP. Extract them to a folder you will find again, such as Documents.
2. Double-click Offline-Debt-Payoff-Planner.html and open it in Chrome or Firefox. Use a regular browser window, not a private one. Show sample data lets you look around first.
3. Choose where to save, pick a folder, and keep the name My-Debt-Plan.debtplan or choose your own. That.debtplan file is your plan. Without the file picker, use Save a copy.
4. Press Backup now in Backup and Settings now and then, and keep that copy somewhere separate from your main file.

This is an HTML app that opens in a web browser on a computer. Delivery is a ZIP file: unzip it first, then open the HTML file from the unzipped folder. Tested in Chrome and Firefox on a computer.

• The app makes no internet connections and sends nothing anywhere. Your entries stay in your browser and in the files you save. If you save a file into a cloud-synced folder, that service may copy it. Clearing browser data can erase the browser copy, so keep your saved file.
• Works offline after download. No account or subscription. No password lock or encryption.
• Interest is estimated monthly from the rate you enter. Actual statements may differ. Forecasts stop after 50 years if balances remain.
• This is a general recordkeeping tool. It is not financial, tax, legal or accounting advice, and it is not a lender or a credit counselor. Your results are estimates that depend on what you enter, and I cannot guarantee they are complete or free of errors. Check important figures yourself.
• Questions? Message me through the shop. Please tell me your browser and version and the exact words shown at the top right of the page. Please never send anyone your plan file or a screenshot that shows your numbers.
