Run your book club from one shared spreadsheet. This Book Club Planner keeps your member list, meeting schedule, host rotation, book nominations and voting, attendance, ratings, meeting notes and an optional dues kitty together, with a dashboard that shows the next meeting and your club favorites at a glance. Share it with members so everyone sees the next book and host.

IMPORTANT

Developed for Google Sheets. An Excel file is included for the latest Microsoft 365 (Office 365 Desktop App). Older Excel versions may not support all features.

WHAT'S INSIDE (11 tabs)

Start Here: quick setup, sharing steps, color key and notes.

Settings: club name, year, meeting day and time, default place or video link, currency label, palette picker, a Show sample data switch and the dropdown lists for genre, meeting format, member status, kitty type and kitty category, editable on Settings.

Members: up to 40 members with contact details, willing to host and status (Active, Paused, Left). Times hosted, meetings attended and attendance percent fill in.

Schedule: 24 meetings with date, book, author, genre, pages, picked by, host, format and place or link. Status shows Done, Next up, Upcoming or Date missing.

Host Rotation: every Active member with times hosted, last hosted, a Not hosted yet flag and the next suggested host.

Nominations and Vote: up to 30 nominated books and 20 voters with tick boxes, total votes, rank and the winner. Ties show every tied book.

Attendance: tick who came to each of 24 meetings, with present counts and attendance percent per member.

Ratings: members rate each book 1 to 5. Average per book and the club favorite of the year.

Meeting Notes: one block per meeting with 6 blank discussion question lines for the host, highlights, favorite quote, next book and follow-ups.

Kitty: 300 rows of dues in and expenses out with a running balance, plus each member's dues status for the year (Paid, Part or Not yet).

Dashboard: books read this year, next meeting, average club rating, top 3 rated books, attendance rate, members active, kitty balance, dues not fully paid and 2 charts.

5 palettes in one file: Ink Navy, Plum and Gray, Forest Ink, Colorblind Safe and High Contrast. Status cells always carry a word as well as a color.

A fictional sample club shows how everything works. Switch it Off on Settings before you add your own data.

Room for 40 members, 24 meetings, 30 nominations, 20 voters and 300 kitty entries.
