Track attendance, tardies and time off for up to 50 staff in one spreadsheet. Enter your own PTO and sick leave policies, log absences in seconds, and see every balance and a yearly calendar for each person.

This is a digital spreadsheet for small business owners and office managers. One roster and one attendance log feed everything else, so there is no tab per employee to copy.

WHAT THE SPREADSHEET DOES

• Attendance Log tab: room for 1,500 entries. Type a date (and an end date for several days), pick the employee and the type, and leave Amount blank for full days or type hours for part of a day. Workdays leave out weekends and the company holidays you list.
• Employees tab: up to 50 people with ID, department, hire date, Active or Inactive, policy, last year's balance carried in, and counts of tardies, left early and days off this plan year.
• Balances tab: one row per person for Vacation/PTO, Sick and Personal: carried over, accrued to date, used, remaining, cap and a plain status (OK, Below zero or At cap).
• Your own accrual policies: Yearly grant, Monthly or Per pay period, with a cap and a carryover limit. You type every rate; the file ships with no rates. Mid-year hires accrue from their hire date.
• Calendar tab: pick a name and see that person's plan year as 12 month grids, each workday with an entry shown in its type's color and code, plus a legend.
• Dashboard tab: active staff, out today, entries this month, days off this year, Below zero and At cap counts, entries by type with a chart, a balances summary, approved time off for the next 14 days and a team month view you can filter by department.
• Setup tab: plan year start (any month), hours per workday, Hours or Days display, leave types and codes, company holidays and departments.
• Light and Dark mode in the same file: choose a theme on Setup and every tab switches. Charts and header art are designed to suit both.
• Sample data switch: see the spreadsheet filled with a fictional company of 12 employees, then switch it Off and start your own. The switch never changes anything you type.

Developed for Google Sheets. An Excel file is included for the latest Microsoft 365 (Office 365 Desktop App). Older Excel versions may not support all features.

• Formula cells are protected without a password. To sort, unprotect the sheet (Review > Unprotect Sheet, no password), sort the whole table, then protect it again.
• Record keeping only: Tardy and Left Early are simple counts. It is not a scheduling, payroll or timesheet tool.
• The sample company, its policies and its holidays are fictional examples, not rules.
